Biography

Prize-winner of numerous international competitions. Trained in Stuttgart, Vienna and Rīga.

With her Fanny Hensel album Sophia Weidemann won great acclaim from critics and audiences alike; now she follows it with a Bach album. On the programme are the world-famous Goldberg Variations, which bring the young Swabian-born pianist’s art of phrasing and sound beautifully to light. She takes her listeners on a thrilling and moving journey through the 30 variations, which in Bach’s hands encompass an entire world – or, in Bach’s own words, a “most joyful refreshment of the spirit”.
